Experience how the Maasai Live

The Maasai, arguably Africa’s most iconic tribal tribe, dominate wide swaths of Kenya’s southern regions and are the major ethnic group around the Masai Mara.

Many of the customs of this nomadic, warrior tribe, who formerly controlled great swaths of pre-colonial Kenya, are still practiced in areas surrounding Masai Mara, where they remain virtually unaffected by modern day society.

So, why should you go to a Maasai village, and what can you expect to see?
This one-hour tour to a Maasai village gives you the opportunity to connect with the Maasai and learn about their culture, way of life, and observe some of their rituals and practices firsthand.

Description

The Maasai village visit is frequently included as part of a lengthier Masai Mara safari tour, and a few hours are set aside for this quick participatory visit to the community, which is usually on the outskirts of the major Mara game reserve limits.

The tour  includes a charge to support the village as well as return road transports from your Masai Mara lodge or camp to the village.

This tour starts from the Camp you choose in the Masai Mara Reserve and it depends on which camp you are staying at and which community they send you to visit.

It should be noted that after paying an entry charge, you may be expected to buy a souvenir from the villagers, however this is not required.
